Brad Hargreaves, co-founder, General Assembly and Venture Partner, Maveron:  Brad co-founded General Assembly and is a Venture Partner at Maveron, General Assembly's lead investor.  As part of the General Assembly founding team, Brad led the growth of the company's education business from its launch in 2011 into a global institution with over a dozen campuses.  Most recently, he was Chief Product Officer until 2014.  Brad has been named to Vanity Fair’s “The Next Establishment”, Inc Magazine’s “30 Under 30”, and Business Insider’s “Silicon Alley 100”.  He writes about entrepreneurship, New York City and life at http://bhargreaves.com.

 

Peg Jackson, Managing Director, Mooreland Partners:  Peg is a Managing Director

in Mooreland Partner’s Greenwich office.  She brings more than 20 years of investment banking, venture capital and operating management experience within the media technology sector. At Mooreland, she focuses on the digital media, marketing software and e-commerce industries.  Prior to joining Mooreland Partners, she was a Managing Director at Gridley & Co, where she worked on transactions within the digital media sector. Prior to joining Gridley, Peg worked in venture capital as a Managing Director at NeoCarta Ventures investing in media technology companies such as Silverpop and Myrio (acquired by Siemens). Prior to working at NeoCarta, Peg held corporate development and operational roles at NBC and Reuters.   Peg holds a BA in Economics from Georgetown University and an MBA from New York University.

 

Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, Headwaters MB: Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, joined Headwaters from Nightwood Capital LLC, a middle-market boutique advisory firm that she founded in 2009. Sun focuses on Digital Media & Internet and Media Growth companies. Her experience of 20 years in investment banking includes corporate finance coverage of Media (cable and entertainment), Digital Media, Internet and Software companies at Oppenheimer, Deutsche Bank , Lehman Brothers and J.P. Morgan. Sun also has experience in Equity Research at Lehman Brothers. She has completed over $38 billion in public (IPOs and follow-ons) and private equity, equity-linked and debt financings and M&A transactions. Sun serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Greenwich (CT). She received B.A. degrees in Economics and International Studies at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and an M.B.A. of Finance from Columbia Business School in New York.

 

Art Chang is the Founder and CEO of Tipping Point Partners, a hybrid incubator and investment company, based in New York City. Tipping Point is the founder or co-founder in startups at the intersection of government, education and industry, including media and games. Art’s media startups have included production boutique Splendid Television (Dreamworks); music social network pioneer Haystack Music; digital cookbook recipe service Cookstr (Macmillan); and TV post-production workflow and metadata engine Qwire. Art is also a New York City campaign finance official who is active in tech education. @achangnyc

 

Jay MacDonald is the CEO and Co-Founder of Digital Capital Advisors, LLC, where he specializes in cross-border M&A and capital raises for digital media companies.  He is also a Managing Partner of the Entrepreneur’s Investment Fund and the  eValue Group – early stage venture capital funds that invest in digital media companies in the United States and Europe.  Jay’s career as both an entrepreneur, investor and investment banker spans 20 years of leading high growth and rapidly changing media companies and investment banking practices.  Highlights of his banking successes include the sale of Weather Underground to The Weather Channel, the sale of Dedicated Media to Lin Television, the sale of SmartClip (Europe’s largest video ad network) to Adconion, the sale of Group Commerce to Nimble Commerce,  the acquisition of Opinion Research for infoUSA,  the sale of lead generation company Franchise Gator to aQuantive and then representing Microsoft Corp. in the divestiture of Franchise Gator after acquiring aQuantive,  the sale of German-based ad serving company Falk eSolutions to DoubleClick, the sale of Q&A platform company Answerology to Hearst, social media services company Ripple6 to Gannett, and interactive agency Special Ops Media to Dutch-listed LBi International. Previously, Jay was a partner with DeSilva+Phillips, where he founded and led the digital media and technology investment banking practice.  He was also the Founder and CEO of WorkingWomanNetwork, Co-Founder and CEO of World Congress, Inc., and Publisher of Inc. Magazine.  He holds a B.A. from the College of Wooster and is a member of World President’s Organization (WPO).

 

Caroline Ghosn, Co-founder and CEO, Levo (www.levo.com):  An active member of the Global Shapers community and the first woman in her family to graduate from college, Caroline has proven that she’s passionate about social change and has done remarkable things at the young age of 28.
