While Native Advertising is similar to the advertorial, because of the integrated nature of advertising and social media, it is not only a mashup of content, advertising and brand. It’s carving out its own identity of social and content experience.

Courtney Cochrane, Global Vice President, Media Sales, Tech, Games & Media Group, CBS Interactive:  Courtney Cochrane is global vice president of media sales for CBS Interactive’s technology, games and media group, which includes the iconic brands CNET, GameSpot, and TVGuide.com among others.  An expert in online media with a long history of working closely with advertisers in a variety of categories, Courtney is an eight-year veteran of CBS Interactive currently managing a team of over 100 sellers and managers responsible for creating and delivering successful and innovative ad campaigns.  In the last year alone, Courtney spearheaded several new brand extensions,

including CNET’s Smart Appliances effort, its expanded Car Tech vertical and the launch of CNET en español, the first-ever tech brand serving Spanish-speaking consumers. Courtney also serves as the publisher of the CNET Magazine, launching its first issue this year.  Courtney earned her bachelors degree from Kenyon College in Ohio. She currently lives in the Bay Area with her family.

 

Seth Rogin is Chief Revenue Officer of Mashable where he is responsible for advertising sales, branded content and monetization of new products. Seth joined Mashable in June 2013 and with an audience of 40 million monthly unique visitors and 20 million social followers it is one of the most active on social media, tweeting a Mashable story more than twice every second.  Previously, Seth worked for The New York Times for the past 13 years in various positions, as Vice President of Advertising from 2006 until 2013. Most recently, he led the sales operations for the fast-growing mobile and tablet offerings. Seth was also responsible for the sales and business operations of The New York Times Magazine and T, The New York Times Style Magazine, including the creation and highly successful launch of the first website for T.  Seth was recently named the "CRO of the Year" award by MIN and has served for three years on the Executive Committee of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women New York annual event and was honored as their first male "Luminary" in March 2014. Seth serves on the Board of Directors of the Ad Council, as well as the Advisory Councils of Advertising Week New York and Advertising Week Europe. He also served for four years on the Education Foundation for the Fashion Industries, benefiting the Fashion Institute of Technology.

 

Mitchell Reichgut, CEO, Jun Group:  Prior to founding Jun Group, Mitchell headed up Bates Interactive, the online unit of Bates Worldwide Advertising, now owned by WPP. As General Manager/Creative Director, Mitchell helped grow Bates Interactive into a 70-person integrated unit, with clients such as EDS, Moet & Chandon, and Warner-Lambert.  Before joining Bates, Mitchell served as Creative Director at Think New Ideas, a leading Web development company with offices in New York and Los Angeles. There, Mitchell supervised development of major online advertising and e-commerce initiatives for Budweiser, Rockport, Reebok, Sony, Continental Airlines, and many others.  Mitchell began his career as an Art Director at Grey Advertising where he created print and television advertisements for clients such as Procter & Gamble, Parker Brothers, and Stride Rite. Mitchell wrote and directed The Scene, a 20-episode online drama that was viewed over 8 million times in 90 countries. He has published two national comic book series, and he wrote and produced an online drama for Comcast entitled Stream, starring Whoopi Goldberg.

 

Moksha Fitzgibbons, CRO, Complex Media: Moksha Fitzgibbons joined Complex in 2002, where he has been responsible for impressive year-over-year ad sales growth and has introduced a wide variety of innovative programs such as multi-tiered advertising initiatives, cross-platform sales, custom premium content ownership sections and 360 touch-point programs combining online, offline and special events. Prior to joining Complex, Moksha was Fashion Manager at The Source Magazine from 1999-2002. He has a BS in PoliSci from Southern Connecticut State University.

 

Tom Wolfe is currently Vice President of Business Development at YuMe, managing their publisher sales team since November 2012, increasing the publisher base in support of 30% YOY revenue growth, and managing through YuMe’s IPO. He spent several years at Rovi building out its advertising sales business, expanding into the burgeoning connected TV space domestically and internationally. He has consulted for advertising agencies like MPG and the Michael Alan Group, and served as Vice President, Product Marketing & Promotion for Comcast Spotlight, where he helped deploy new interactive, digital, and video on demand capabilities and negotiated complex business agreements & partnerships around advanced advertising initiatives.  Wolfe has presented or spoken on panels at events including: Next TV Summit (2014); OMMA Global Video; iMedia Breakthrough Summit; Interactive Advertising Bureau MIXX Conference; and Telco TV.

 

Aron Levitz, Head of Business Development, Wattpad:  As Head of Business Development, Aron Levitz creates content partnerships between Wattpad and leading brands, studios, and labels. Before Wattpad, Aron was senior director of strategic alliances at Xtreme Labs, where he developed business and mobile strategies for the world’s top media brands including NFL, MTV, and Deutsche Telekom. Prior to Xtreme, as director of entertainment and global content acquisition at BlackBerry he launched innovative digital media services for industry giants. Aron received his Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of Waterloo.

 

 

Mark J. Kapczynski, Chief Operating Officer, Kontrol Media: Mark Kapczynski has a successful track record as a serial entrepreneur, chief executive and media industry expert. His current venture, Kontrol Media Corp., is an idea incubator for startups and senior professionals in the media and technology markets including Web 2.0, mobile, and television. Prior to that, he was founder and CEO of MESoft, a media and entertainment software company, for which Kapczynski raised two rounds of seed and venture capital funding exceeding $8MM. Under his leadership, the company also grew its distribution to a global level and partnered with leading IT companies, such as IBM, Sun and AMD, and media companies that include Avid, Ascent Media and Sony. Additionally, he received a patent for a digital media workflow process. From 1995 to 2002, Kapczynski worked at Microsoft Corporation as their Director of Worldwide Media & Entertainment Solutions Group. During that time, he worked with numerous digital media and internet start-ups such as Homestore (now Move.com), Movielink, and MeTV. Mark Kapczynski got his first taste at being an entrepreneur in 1993 when he founded Digital Genesis-a pioneer in the internet/e-commerce space-which was sold to publicly-traded Netgateway, Inc. (NGWY, now IIG) three years later. Mr. Kapczynski graduated from UCLA film school and continues to be active in multiple industry associations that span media, mobile telecom, technology, and Internet Web 2.0. In his free time, Mr. Kapczynski enjoys car racing and playing the drums.
